With over 20 years experience working as a personal trainer and nutrition consultant, my goal is to help others develop their approach to optimal health and nutrition.
I have 3 certifications from the USA, including Bio-mechanics of Strength training; plus 1 certification from the UK.
My clients include busy business executives, stressed housewives, and senior citizens wanting to stay healthy, as well as the youth group (13+) in sports specific areas as well as overall fitness / weight management.
And don't forget: "There are results or excuses, not both!"
Daily we are reminded of how important it is to take care of our health, and the 'over 30 age-group' begins to see that what we do now impacts our future health. My workouts include strength training / balance / cardio / core fitness and stretching. Both male and female clients require these to stay in their best condition. To help others develop their approach to better health and nutrition, I specifically design workouts and meal plans for each client, as everyone's fitness level and goals differ.
Besides toning muscle, looking & feeling fit, being more flexible, and in general better shape, the next article shows, another important reason to start weight training: counter-acting osteoporosis.
Studies show that strength training over a period of time can help prevent bone loss -- and may even help build new bone. In one study, women who participated in a strength training program for a year saw significant increases in their bone density in the spine and hips, areas affected most by osteoporosis in older women. Maintaining strong muscles through weight training helps to keep up your balance and coordination -- a critical element in preventing falls, which can lead to osteoporosis-related fractures.
